Roma in 3 giorni: itinerario completo
Discover the Eternal City with our 3-day itinerary: from the masterpieces of Ancient Rome to the wonders of the Vatican and the charm of Trastevere.
Day 1: The vestiges of the Empire
Your journey begins in the beating heart of world history. Dedicate your first morning to the most famous archaeological area in the world. Start at the Colosseo, the undisputed symbol of Roma, then continue towards the Foro Romano and the Palatino, where you can walk among the remains of imperial palaces and enjoy a breathtaking view of ancient temples. After a lunch break near the Monti district, head towards the Campidoglio, designed by Michelangelo, from where you can observe the magnificence of the Fori Imperiali from above. End the day with a walk towards the Teatro di Marcello and the evocative Portico d'Ottavia in the Ghetto Ebraico, where you can savor traditional Roman dishes.
Day 2: Art, Faith and Baroque
The second day is dedicated to the treasures of the Vatican. Head early in the morning to the Musei Vaticani to admire the Cappella Sistina and the Stanze di Raffaello, then continue towards the Basilica di San Pietro. Don't forget to climb the Dome for a unique view of Piazza San Pietro and the city. In the afternoon, cross Ponte Sant'Angelo to admire the imposing Castel Sant'Angelo. Continue your walk towards Piazza Navona, famous for the Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi, and reach the Pantheon, the best-preserved building of ancient Rome. End the evening admiring the Fontana di Trevi, remembering to toss a coin to ensure your return to the Capital.
Day 3: Neighborhood life and eternal views
The last day is dedicated to discovering the most authentic soul of Roma. Start with a visit to Campo de' Fiori, where the local market will welcome you with its colors and scents. Then cross the Tevere to immerse yourself in the narrow streets of Trastevere, among votive shrines and laundry hanging in the sun. Climb towards the Gianicolo to admire one of the most spectacular views of Roma, especially at sunset. For your final evening, enjoy a typical dinner in one of the many trattorias in the neighborhood, sipping local wine and letting yourself be carried away by the lively and genuine atmosphere that only the Eternal City can offer. Before leaving, a walk in Piazza di Spagna and along via dei Condotti will allow you to admire the timeless elegance of the historic center.
