Formia is a coastal town in southern Lazio, overlooking the Gulf of Gaeta and connected to the slopes of the Aurunci Mountains. Its heritage preserves traces of Roman Formiae, including villas, tombs and ancient infrastructure.

Castellone tells the story of the elevated historic core, while Mola faces the harbour around its medieval tower. Towards Gianola, coast, Mediterranean scrub and archaeology form a landscape best explored area by area, checking access and services separately.
